CS2 Callouts Guide
Why Callouts Matter
Clear communication is one of the biggest advantages you can have in CS2. Callouts — the standardized names for locations on each map — let you instantly relay enemy positions, planned strategies, and danger zones to your team. Learning callouts is one of the fastest ways to improve your competitive game.
How to Make Good Callouts
- Be specific — "He's A" is less useful than "One player CT, playing behind box"
- Include numbers — "Two B tunnels" is more actionable than "They're pushing B"
- Call what you know, not what you guess — "I heard steps mid" is better than "They're going mid"
- Keep it brief — "Jungle, one, low HP" beats "There's a guy in jungle and I think he's pretty hurt"
- Call after you die — give your info quickly, then stop talking so alive players can hear
Mirage Callouts
A Site
- A Site / Bombsite A — the planting area
- CT Spawn — behind the site toward CT base
- Stairs — stairs leading from CT spawn to A site
- Jungle — the elevated connector area between A site and mid
- Connector — hallway connecting mid to A short
- Palace — the building on the T side of A site
- Ramp — the slope from T spawn toward A site
- Sandwich — the tight space between default box and the wall
- Triple / Triple Box — the stack of three boxes on A site
- Ticket Booth — the booth near A ramp entrance
B Site
- B Site / Bombsite B — the planting area
- Short / B Short / Catwalk — the short path from mid to B
- Apartments / B Apps — the building complex leading to B site from T side
- Van — the van parked near B site
- Bench / Couch — furniture near the B site wall
- Kitchen / Window — the window area overlooking B short
- Market / Door — the doorway from B apps to market
Mid
- Mid — the central area of the map
- Top Mid — the T side entrance to mid
- Window / Sniper's Nest — the elevated window room overlooking mid
- Underpass — the underground passage connecting mid to B short
- Chair — the area with a chair near the mid boxes
Inferno Callouts
A Site
- A Site — planting area
- Pit — the sunken area near A site
- Balcony / Porch — above pit, overlooking A site
- Library — the room near A site with bookshelves
- Arch — the archway between A site and CT spawn
- Moto / Bike — the motorcycle near Arch
- Short / A Short — path from apartments to A site
B Site
- B Site — planting area
- Banana — the long corridor leading to B site from T side
- Car — the wrecked car on banana
- Construction — the construction area near B site
- Coffins — the stone coffins behind B site
- CT / New Box — CT side entrance to B site
- Dark / Spools — the dark corner with spools near B site entrance
- First Oranges / Second Oranges — the orange-box positions on banana
Mid
- Mid — central area
- Second Mid — deeper mid area toward A
- Top Mid / T Ramp — T side entrance to mid
- Mexico / Boiler — the room connecting mid to short
Dust2 Callouts
Key Positions
- Long / Long A — the long path to A site
- Pit — the sunken area at long A
- Blue / Long Doors — the double doors at long
- Catwalk / Cat / Short A — the elevated path from mid to A site
- Goose — behind the A site boxes near CT spawn
- Xbox — the box in mid that blocks CT sniper view of lower tunnels
- Tunnels / Upper Tunnels / Lower Tunnels — the T side tunnels to B
- B Platform / Plat — the elevated platform on B site
- Big Box / Double Stack — the large box on B site
- Window / B Window — the window room near B site
- Mid Doors — the double doors in mid (CT side AWP spot)
Tips for Learning Callouts
- Play with the radar open — callout names appear on the minimap
- Focus on one map at a time — learn all callouts before moving to the next map
- Watch pro matches — casters use callouts constantly
- Use them in every game — practice makes permanent
